Santos watch, medium model, mechanical movement with automatic winding, caliber 1847 MC. 18K rose gold case, 18K rose gold 7-sided crown set with a faceted sapphire, silvered opaline dial, blued-steel sword-shaped hands, sapphire crystal. Two alligator-skin and calfskin straps with the “Quick Switch” interchangeability system, interchangeable folding buckle in 18K rose gold. Case width: 35.1 mm, thickness: 8.83 mm. Water-resistant to 10 bar (approx. 100 meters). 1904, Louis Cartier granted the wish of the famous Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos Dumont: to be able to tell time while flying. The birth of one of the first ever wristwatches sealed the bonds of friendship between these two pioneers.
